It requires specially coated paper and is ideal for instant high quality prints. In inkjet printing, liquid ink droplets are ejected onto the paper, with no physical contact. This drum picks up dry toner powder, which is then fused onto the paper by heat. Laser printing is based on physical contact between the paper and a photoelectric drum.
